John Gromada
John Gromada is a composer and sound designer for theater, film, television, and dance. Best known for his theater music for plays, he has written scores for many critically acclaimed, award-winning Broadway productions including NEXT FALL, PROOF, A BRONX TALE, RABBIT HOLE, WELL, TWELVE ANGRY MEN, SIGHT UNSEEN, PRELUDE TO A KISS, A FEW GOOD MEN, and many others. His many off-Broadway and regional theater scores are distinctive for their blend of original music and abstract sound design, and have been a part of productions at leading theaters in the United States and abroad. He also scored the acclaimed production of Horton Foote’s THE ORPHANS’ HOME CYCLE at the Signature Theater and A.R. Gurney’s THE GRAND MANNER at Lincoln Center. His theme and score for the Granada USA television series “The Interrogators” can be heard on the Biography Channel. Gromada is the recipient of the Drama Desk, Lucille Lortel, Obie, Drama-logue, FDDY, and Connecticut Critics’ Circle awards, and has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and Meet the Composer.
