THE STORY: With relative peace across New York City and their rival, the evil Dr. X, in jail, the members of the New Crimefighters are settling into something like normalcy. In fact, superhero Magpie is on a date with roving reporter Henry Hardnose when they witness a giant rock almost as big as the moon hurtling toward Earth. With the world on the brink of destruction, we discover our heroes and villains share a common bond—not only are they desperate to live their last moments in happiness, but they want to spend them in the companionship of someone who makes them feel like their most authentic self. As the doomsday clock ticks down, will our heroes find peace before it's too late? Or might a stunning, last-second reprieve remind them that happiness need not wait till the end times?
